Job summary

Loews Arlington Hotel is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering team and partner with the Complex Director of Engineering to keep the property running at peak performance. You will oversee maintenance programs, staffing, troubleshooting, and reporting to safeguard assets and deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years as Assistant Chief or Chief Engineer in a hotel or hospitality setting with hands-on leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, life-safety systems, and energy management.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings for project planning.
• Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and maintenance protocols; accurate record-keeping.
• Proven leadership with clear communication and cross-department collaboration.
• Experience with computer-based management systems for operations tracking.

Responsibilities

• Maintain staffing levels and oversee daily engineering workflows for efficient operations.
• Assign tasks, review work orders, and conduct inspections to uphold quality standards.
• Collaborate with department heads to promptly resolve maintenance-related guest concerns.
• Drive preventative maintenance programs to protect property assets.
• Support engineers in diagnosing equipment issues and provide guidance as needed.
• Coordinate training to enhance team skills and performance.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards.
• Manage storeroom/inventory records and supply management.
• Attend hotel meetings to align with property activities and priorities.
• Assist the Director of Engineering with energy monitoring, upkeep, and supply management.
• Oversee payroll processing, attendance tracking, corrective actions, and performance reviews.
• Ensure adherence to key control, tool control, and security protocols with relevant teams.
• Regular attendance and willingness to work varied schedules as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
