Job summary

Mr C. Hotels on Long Island is seeking an experienced Hotel Engineer to perform maintenance, repairs, and installations at our upscale property (Long Island Hyatt-LIH).

The role requires responding quickly to service calls and coordinating with multiple trades to ensure guest comfort and safety. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, plus vocational training or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and general building construction.
• Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings and technical parts breakdown.
• Understand and efficiently maintain and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to all service calls within half hour from time call is received.
• Determine defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, take immediate corrective action if guest related or top priority.
• Follow procedures for repair, maintenance, alteration and installation work.
• Comply with local, state and federal codes and requirements.
• Coordinate with electricians, carpenters, painters and night engineers to complete work.
