Job summary

The Maxwell Nashville, part of Millennium Hotels & Resorts, is seeking an Engineer I to maintain building systems and support a high standard of guest service. You will work in a collaborative team to ensure safe, efficient operations and continuous improvements across engineering tasks.

Ideal candidates bring a passion for hospitality, ownership, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with building systems maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life-safety) is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment and deliver guest-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth, efficient operations aligned with brand standards.
• Deliver consistent, high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and coordinate with outside vendors when needed.
• Maintain guestrooms, public areas, and facility infrastructure in good condition.
• Track maintenance work orders and document completed repairs.
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.

Technical / Role-Specific Requirements

• Ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and address safety hazards or operational issues.
• Maintain guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and facility infrastructure in good working condition.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and local codes.
• Track maintenance work orders and document completed repairs.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized repairs or services are required.
• Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
• Assist with renovation projects, facility improvements, and capital expenditure initiatives.
• Ensure all engineering equipment is operated safely and properly maintained to minimize downtime and guest impact.

Education
