Job summary

The Charleston Place seeks a Duty Engineer to safeguard the property’s physical infrastructure and guest comfort. You will handle HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and preventative maintenance, balancing scheduled work with urgent requests to keep guest rooms and public spaces at premium standards.

As a key maintenance contact, you’ll document repairs, use the HotSOS system, and coordinate with Housekeeping to meet service goals while maintaining safety and security protocols across the property.

Qualifications

• General maintenance and preventive maintenance duties.
• Ability to read manufacturer instructions, blueprints, and diagnostic trees.
• Experience with hand and power tools and safe operation of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, and emergency repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and plumbing systems at an intermediate level.
• Operate and repair hotel equipment using mechanical skills; perform carpentry as needed.
• Adhere to safety, security, and emergency procedures; respond to emergencies and correct hazards.
• Communicate with Housekeeping and Stewarding to meet operational goals.
• Maintain records of repairs and use the work order system (HotSOS).
