Carpenter Hotel in Austin, TX is seeking a Cook to exceed guest expectations across food preparation, cooking and inventory duties. You will maintain Health Department standards and support the hotel's dining operations.

The role requires excellent communication, conflict-resolution skills, and commitment to upholding our culture and guest relations. Experience in hospitality is preferred, with opportunities to contribute to a collaborative staff environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to resolve conflict.
• Develop and maintain company culture, values and public reputation.
• Two years related experience in hospitality or service industry (implied by role)

Responsabilités

• Prepare a variety of foods according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures
• Prep food items for after-hours distribution
• Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware
• Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
• Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas
• Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary handling practices
• Observe and test foods to determine if they are cooked sufficiently
• Portion, arrange, garnish and serve food to waiters or patrons
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
• Estimate expected food consumption, requisition or purchase supplies
• Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus considering costs and event needs
• Maintain positive relationships with employees and guests
• Ensure open communication with all departments and upper management
• Maintain high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
• Ensure equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
• Attend relevant meetings
• Adhere to standards of operations, policies, and training materials
