Job summary

Canopy by Hilton Boston Downtown is seeking a seasoned hotel controller to oversee revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities and to supervise the accounting team.

You will train staff, prepare budgets, ensure accurate financial reporting, manage general ledger closings, payroll verification and tax filings, and participate in audits and executive meetings. Hilton experience and Boston market familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum five years as a hotel controller.
• Hospitality industry experience, Hilton preferred.
• Experience in the Boston hospitality market preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train accounting team.
• Prepare and review financial reports weekly and monthly.
• Verify payroll inputs and timekeeping accuracy.
• Coordinate monthly general ledger closings and journal entries.
• Prepare budgets and financial forecasts.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Review sales tax daily.
