Job summary

Stonebridge in Seattle seeks a Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance operations across multiple hotels, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and energy controls. You will lead a team, manage contracts, and partner with GMs to ensure guest satisfaction and well‑maintained properties.

Responsibilities include budgeting, coordinating with Housekeeping and Security, and implementing safety procedures. Requires 2–4 years in hotel engineering with strong leadership and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and energy controls.
• Ability to manage maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
• Excellent problem‑solving and project management skills.
• Experience working with contractors, vendors, and managing maintenance agreements.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in budgeting, inventory management, and purchasing.
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations and make decisions that impact guest safety and operational costs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance operations for systems such as refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, and hotel equipment.
• Supervise maintenance staff and ensure timely project completion across properties.
• Monitor energy consumption and ensure efficient use.
• Oversee all contracted services to meet hotel standards and guest expectations.
• Coordinate activities with Housekeeping and Security; manage key inventory and safety protocols.
• Develop and maintain maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and back‑of‑house areas.
• Manage maintenance agreements and contracts, including landscaping and snow removal.
• Prepare departmental budgets and oversee inventory and purchasing.
