The Virginian is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead all engineering and maintenance operations at our Lynchburg, VA property. You will ensure facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations while supporting exceptional guest experiences through a well-maintained hotel.

The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, financial acumen, and a commitment to operational excellence in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
• 5–10+ years of maintenance/engineering leadership experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to lead and develop a maintenance team and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance operations to ensure safe, compliant facilities.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, capital projects, and daily engineering functions.
• Drive guest satisfaction through well-maintained, reliable property operations.
• Manage department budget and vendor relationships to control costs.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, fire safety, OSHA standards.
