Job summary

LBA Hospitality is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead hotel maintenance operations at Courtyard - Hilton Head Island. You will oversee repairs, preventative maintenance, and safety for building systems, and support guest services with reliable infrastructure.

Responsibilities include supervising maintenance staff, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with brand standards. The role requires hands-on skills, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic hotel setting.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of maintenance engineer, technician, or similar experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• HVAC and Pool certifications preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Experience safely using hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, supervise, and develop maintenance staff.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems.
• Manage preventative maintenance program.
• Perform property inspections and address safety and facility needs.
• Respond to work orders and delegate repairs as needed.
• Maintain hotel interiors, exteriors, equipment, and grounds.
• Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are available and maintained.
• Maintain maintenance logs and documentation.
• Manage maintenance within budget while upholding standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
