Job summary

Gecko Hospitality (Corporate) seeks a Hotel Chief Engineer for our Philadelphia properties. You will lead technical strategy, CAPEX planning, and compliance while hands-on managing maintenance.

Responsibilities include team leadership, capital planning, preventive maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems, and ensuring brand standards and safety exams. Philadelphia-area residency is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Chief Engineer in hotels.
• Strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety background.
• Must live in Greater Philadelphia area.
• Brand-standard experience preferred.
• EPA 608, CPO, Boiler License, or PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead team: hire, train, and mentor unit mechanics; quarterly audits.
• Develop and execute annual CAPEX plan from scope to close-out.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety; target 95%+ compliance.
• Own R&M budget; identify utility savings and labor efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with city inspections, brand QA, OSHA and life-safety audits.
• Act as 24/7 emergency escalation for major building failures.
