Job summary

Hotel Avail, A Tapestry Collection by Hilton Rogers is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead a small facilities team and actively troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hotel systems. You will prioritize work orders, monitor operations, and engage with inspectors and guests to ensure flawless service.

Qualifications

• 3 years in a maintenance role with troubleshooting and repair of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to encourage co-workers to perform their best work in a positive and respectful manner.
• Basic competence in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Self-directed and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing malfunctioning electrical/mechanical systems and equipment.
• Reviewing maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders to prioritize and schedule work assignments.
• Monitoring and inspecting assigned work.
• Inspecting property to identify potential and current needs.
• Planning and executing on-going appropriate maintenance programs.
• Servicing the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters.
• Estimating department expenditures for budget purposes and assisting with the capital budget process.
• Soliciting bids from contractors, evaluating their proposals, and ensuring work is completed to specifications.
• Recruit, mentor, train, and support facilities staff.
• Coordinating with local health, safety, fire and building inspectors to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
• Performing preventive maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
• Maintaining the building exterior if not serviced by a contractor (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting).
• Listening and responding to guests' requests or complaints.
