Job summary

Residence Charleston Riverview in Charleston, SC, seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance and operation of all hotel equipment and building systems. The role emphasizes safety, energy conservation, and adherence to brand standards, with a requirement for open weekday/weekend/holiday availability.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least 2 years as Chief or Assistant Chief Engineer, with knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer position preferred.
• Certifications in electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing disciplines preferred.
• Experience with food and beverage equipment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for the maintenance and operation of all equipment on the property and building structure.
• Oversee aesthetics and remodeling scheduling for interior/exterior of the building.
• Coordinate 24-hour preventative maintenance and monitor external/internal utilities.
• Prepare work schedules based on forecasted occupancy and energy conservation policies.
• Conduct department meetings and training in line with AURO Hotels' standards and safety procedures.
• Monitor compliance with building codes, OSHA, and fire safety procedures.
• Coordinate with department heads, manage budgets and new construction projects.
• Develop and drill hotel emergency procedures and train staff accordingly.
