Job summary

Residence Inn Salt Lake City Murray is seeking a Chief Maintenance Engineer to lead our property maintenance team and ensure top facilities quality. You will drive preventive maintenance, oversee repairs, and coordinate in-house projects while supervising contractors and maintaining guest satisfaction.

You will oversee building systems, manage budgets, and uphold safety standards, with growth opportunities through mentorship and professional development across our properties.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in hotel/building/apartment maintenance or similar environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to plan, manage, and complete projects from start to finish.
• Supervisory experience leading maintenance teams.
• Experience with preventative maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems.
• Experience operating and maintaining a commercial pool when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance programs for equipment, guest rooms, and building infrastructure.
• Conduct minor repairs across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related systems.
• Lead in-house projects: gather proposals, coordinate schedules, manage budgets, ensure quality.
• Secure and supervise outside contractors, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Maintain exterior grounds and parking areas; manage pool and spa per policy and codes when applicable.

How You'll Make An Impact

Property Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance programs and repairs for equipment, guest rooms, and overall property infrastructure
• Conduct minor repairs on mechanical, electrical,HVAC, plumbing, and other building-related systems

Project Management

• Serve as project manager for in-house projects by gathering proposals, providing recommendations, coordinating schedules, ensuring quality control, managing budgets, and resolving issues as they arise

Contractor Oversight

• Secure and supervise outside contractors for complex equipment and building repair needs, ensuring work meets safety and quality standards

Facility & Grounds Care

• Preserve the property's exterior appearance, including landscaping, lawn care, and upkeep of parking areas
• If applicable, maintain the pool and spa in compliance with company policies, brand standards, and state and local health codes

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Bring

• Three or more years of hotel, building, apartment, or similar maintenance environment
• High problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to implement and manage projects from inception to completion
• Supervisory experience
• Experience in preventative maintenance and general repairs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment and building components
• When applicable, experience operating and maintaining a commercial pool
