Job summary

Residence Inn Salt Lake City is seeking a Chief Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance efforts and drive reliability across the property. You will mentor a team, oversee preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs to ensure an outstanding guest experience.

The role emphasizes leadership, project oversight, and adherence to safety standards, with opportunities for growth within a growing organization and exposure to 35+ hotels within the NCG Hospitality portfolio.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in hotel/building maintenance or similar environment is required.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills is essential.
• Ability to lead projects from inception to completion.
• Experience supervising teams and contractors.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• If applicable, experience maintaining a commercial pool.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive maintenance programs for equipment, guest rooms, and property infrastructure.
• Perform minor repairs on MEP systems and building components.
• Act as project manager for in-house projects: gather proposals, coordinate schedules, manage budgets, ensure quality.
• Secure and supervise outside contractors for complex repairs, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Maintain exterior property appearance, landscaping, parking areas, and pool/spa per policy and codes.

How You'll Make An Impact

Property Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance programs and repairs for equipment, guest rooms, and overall property infrastructure
• Conduct minor repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other building-related systems

Project Management

• Serve as project manager for in-house projects by gathering proposals, providing recommendations, coordinating schedules, ensuring quality control, managing budgets, and resolving issues as they arise

Contractor Oversight

• Secure and supervise outside contractors for complex equipment and building repair needs, ensuring work meets safety and quality standards

Facility & Grounds Care

• Preserve the property's exterior appearance, including landscaping, lawn care, and upkeep of parking areas
• If applicable, maintain the pool and spa in compliance with company policies, brand standards, and state and local health codes

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Bring

• Three or more years of hotel, building, apartment, or similar maintenance environment
• High problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to implement and manage projects from inception to completion
• Supervisory experience
• Experience in preventative maintenance and general repairs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment and building components
• When applicable, experience operating and maintaining a commercial pool
