Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels, Royal Sonesta Houston, seeks a Counterperson to prepare and serve beverages and baked goods, describe menu items, and take orders. You will stock supplies, assist room service, and provide excellent guest service in a fast-paced hotel store.

The role requires one year cashier experience, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and Food Handler/TABC certifications where applicable. Night, weekend, and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of cashier experience; customer service preferred.
• Must speak, read, and understand English fluently.
• Food safety and alcohol service certifications where required.

Responsibilities

• Upsell and use suggestive selling techniques.
• Present a positive image of Sonesta Houston to guests.
• Provide friendly, accurate beverage and snack service.
• Follow store procedures to maintain cleanliness and stock.
• Assist in training new staff and educate customers about products.
• Maintain accuracy in cash handling and POS operations.
