Job summary

Best Western Premier, The Central Hotel in Harrisburg seeks a courteous restaurant server to deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will greet guests, take and process orders, and ensure accurate checks while upholding cleanliness and safety standards in the restaurant and banquet areas.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent; banquet service experience is preferred. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs, with a flexible schedule including weekends

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent are required or equivalent experience.
• Banquet service experience is preferred.
• Professional communication with guests and team members is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of our guests by maintaining guest privacy at all times.
• Participate in pre-shift, and post-shift, meetings.
• Welcome and greet guests with a warm friendly smile.
• Accurately process guest orders to ensure food items are prepared properly and in a timely manner. Prepare guest checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales tax.
• Maintain superior standards of quality, service, and cleanliness in the restaurant.
• Utilize persuasive selling techniques to sell, and upsell, food and beverage service.
• Clear and reset tables at the end of each course or upon completion of the meal.
• Listen to guest requests and concerns, and resolve in a professional and courteous manner.
• Promote other services of the hotel, including guest rooms, and meetings and events.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, and maintains a professional appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
