Job summary

Baywood Hotels in Asheville, NC seeks a Breakfast Attendant to deliver a safe and memorable breakfast experience for guests at Home2 Suites Asheville–Biltmore Village. Front-of-house and food/beverage service experience is welcome; on-the-job training may apply.

Responsibilities include friendly service, maintaining par levels, stocking, receiving merchandise, following FIFO, and ensuring health standards. Must stand for full shifts; food safety training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous food and beverage prep and service experience is preferred; on-the-job training may substitute for Front Desk experience.
• Must possess excellent public relations skills and warm and friendly attitude.
• Food Handlers Certification/Training preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Provides friendly, personalized service to all guests.
• Maintains established par levels for food, beverages and service supplies; takes inventory and reorders.
• Receives merchandise, confirms orders, labels if necessary, and stores items following FIFO to prevent waste.
• Adheres to company, brand, and local health department requirements.
• Prepares and arranges food and beverage items attractively and replenishes buffet as needed.
• Maintains temperature control to ensure safe serving of hot/cold foods.
• Cleans and sets up service areas; maintains cleanliness of dining and service spaces.
• Washes and stores serving equipment and utensils; performs routine cleaning per manufacturer recommendations.

Successful Candidate will be able to:

• Previous food andbeverage prep and service experience is preferred; however, ability gainedthrough 1+ years related employment (customer service) or on-the-job trainingmay substitute for actual Front Desk experience.

Summary

Responsible for providing a safe andmemorable food and beverage experience for our guests.

Job Duties

• Provides friendly, personalized service to allguests.


• Maintains established par levels for food,beverages and service supplies. Takes inventory, reorder supplies.


• Receives merchandise, confirms it with theorder, labels it (if necessary), and stores it in the proper location. Followsthe First-in/First-out inventory management system to prevent unused and/orexpired items.


• Adheres to all applicable company, brand, andlocal health department requirements.


• Prepares & arranges food & beverageitems in an attractive, abundant-looking, organized, clean presentation in-linewith company / brand standards. Continuously monitors and replenishes buffet asneeded.


• Maintains temperature control so that allhot/cold food is safe for consumption.


• Setup dishes/trays, napkins, utensils, cupsand other service ware.


• Maintains cleanliness & appearance ofdining & service areas – arranges furniture, clears and cleans tables,cleans spills, removes trash.


• Breaks down buffet, properly disposing of fooditems that cannot be reused; Properly stores reusable food items.


• Washes and stores serving equipment includingutensils, displays, chafing pans.


• Cleans dispensers and equipment daily. Performs routine extensive cleaning permanufacturer's recommendations.


• Cleans service and dining area. Vacuumscarpet, mops floor, wipes walls, etc.


• Additional duties may be added at any time atthe discretion of management

Additional Skills:

• Ability to complete and pass a state ornationally recognized food safety program.


• Ability to communicate effectively, bothwritten and oral.


• Ability to read and understand packaginglabels, preparation instructions, manuals.

Physical Demands

• Walking and Standing: 95% (Must be able tostand for the entire shift, usually 8 hours)
