Job summary

The Director of Hotel Accounting at Stonebridge Companies partners with the Vice President of Hotel Accounting to oversee the financial operations of the hotel portfolio. This role leads the Denver-based property accounting team, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with GAAP and USALI, and high standards of financial integrity.

The position serves as a strategic partner to hotel ownership groups, operations, and management, driving process improvements and collaborating with accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience in a manager, director, or similar accounting leadership role.
• Hospitality accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and USALI.
• Experience with hospitality accounting and systems including M3, Otelier, Ottimate, Paymerang, PMS, and POS systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process and oversee financial reporting activities for an assigned portfolio of hotels in accordance with USALI and GAAP.
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
• Direct, coach, mentor, and develop property accounting team members.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Build and maintain relationships with hotel owners by providing accurate financial reporting and support.
• Partner with leadership to support business objectives and improve financial performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
