Job summary

Stonebridge is seeking a Tax Compliance Supervisor to support the Director of Tax and Compliance in administering corporate tax functions across its hotel portfolio. You will oversee tax reporting, ensure timely filings and payments, and lead the Tax Accountant team to maintain accuracy and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 3+ years in tax compliance, and experience with Avalara and GAAP/USALI knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum three (3) years of tax compliance, tax accounting, or related experience required.
• Hospitality industry experience preferred.
• Experience with tax automation platforms, including Avalara, strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and the USALI is desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and develop team members.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation, review, and filing of monthly Sales and Use Tax returns for a portfolio of hotels and hospitality operations.
• Ensure timely payment of tax liabilities across multiple jurisdictions.
• Monitor tax law changes and advise on impact to operations and compliance.
• Support tax processes for newly acquired or developed properties.
• Serve as liaison with Avalara to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist with tax audits, inquiries, and examinations.
• Research and resolve tax questions from leadership and corporate teams.
• Supervise and develop Tax Accountant staff to ensure high-quality performance.
• Review staff work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Maintain organized tax records and audit files.
• Partner with Accounting/Finance/Operations on tax treatment and reporting.
• Support special projects and process improvements.
