Job summary

Shamin Hotels is seeking an experienced Night Auditor at the Virginia Beach Town Center property. The role oversees overnight front desk duties, performs the nightly audit, balances transactions, and generates management reports, ensuring accuracy and smooth handoff to the morning team.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, prior night audit or front desk experience, proficiency with basic accounting, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous front desk or night audit experience preferred.
• Hilton PEP (Property Experience Platform) experience preferred.
• Comfortable with numbers, reconciliation, and basic accounting tasks; strong attention to detail.
• Able to communicate in English, verbal and written.
• Open availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during a shift.

Responsibilities

• Completes the nightly audit: posts room and tax charges, reconciles daily transactions, and runs the end-of-day process.
• Balances all department revenue, credit card batches, and cash; identifies and resolves or flags discrepancies.
• Prepares and distributes daily reports (occupancy, revenue, and manager reports) for the leadership team.
• Handles front desk operations overnight, including check-in, check-out, reservations, and guest requests.
• Serves as the overnight point of contact; follows all safety, security, and emergency procedures to protect guests, team members, and property.
• Processes payments accurately, manages cash and credit transactions, and maintains a balanced shift bank.
• Prepares the front desk and lobby for the morning team and communicates outstanding items at shift handoff.
• Reports for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform, in accordance with company policy.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Position Overview

Job Title: Night Auditor

Reports To: Front Office Manager / Front Desk Supervisor

Schedule: Full-time, overnight (typically 11:00pm – 7:00am). Open availability required, including weekends and holidays.

Work Environment: Modern hotel in the heart of Virginia Beach's Town Center business and entertainment district

Summary

The Night Auditor is the primary overnight presence at the front desk, responsible for completing the nightly audit, balancing the day's transactions, and delivering accurate reports to management. This role combines guest service with financial accuracy — checking in late arrivals, handling guest needs through the night, and ensuring the property is reconciled and ready for the morning team.
