Job summary

First Chair Destinations in New York seeks a reliable Hot Tub Technician to keep vacation homes safe, clean, and guest-ready. You will travel between properties daily, performing general repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting issues.

You will test water chemistry, balance tub conditions, and ensure equipment meets company standards. The role requires independent work, good problem-solving, and weekend flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel, hospitality, vacation or similar industry preferred.
• Hot tub, pool, maintenance, plumbing or related experience preferred.
• Comfortable with water chemistry, tools and mechanical equipment.
• 2 years of basic property maintenance experience preferred but not required.
• Basic appliance repair, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting and carpentry skills preferred.
• Tech-savvy with digital systems and mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment by ensuring homes are well maintained, with repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Perform routine cleaning, servicing and maintenance of hot tubs and spas.
• Test and balance water chemistry and ensure tubs meet standards.
• Inspect equipment and troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Identify and report maintenance needs and coordinate with vendors; travel between sites.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure guest-ready tubs.
• Respond to service requests prioritizing guest and operational needs.
• Follow safety, sanitation and property-care standards.
• Provide friendly professional service to guests, homeowners and vendors.
• Complete other maintenance tasks as assigned across multiple worksites.

About This Job

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Hot Tub Technician to help ensure our hot tubs and spas are clean, safe, well-maintained, and ready for every guest arrival. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, troubleshooting issues, and taking pride in keeping properties in excellent condition. You’ll travel between multiple vacation rental properties daily, performing general repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting issues. Will also support, as needed, other general maintenance requests.

Compensation + Schedule

• $20 - $30 per hour less payroll deductions and all required withholdings
• Up to $100 monthly car allowance for eligible employees
• 20-30 hours per week
• Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday availability required
• Weekends and holidays may be required

Essential Job Functions

• Create a welcoming environment for our guests and owners by ensuring our homes are well maintained with general repairs, preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Perform routine cleaning, servicing, and maintenance of hot tubs and spas.
• Test and balance water chemistry and ensure tubs meet company standards.
• Inspect equipment and troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Identify and report maintenance or repair needs and coordinate with the appropriate team or vendors when needed.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure hot tubs are guest-ready.
• Respond to service requests and prioritize work based on guest and operational needs.
• Follow all company safety, sanitation, and property-care standards.
• Provide friendly, professional service when interacting with guests, homeowners, vendors, and team members.
• Complete other maintenance tasks and projects as assigned, traveling between multiple worksites each day within the assigned market.
• Other duties as assigned because every day is different in hospitality!

Skills + Qualifications

• Experience working in hotel, hospitality, vacation or similar industry is highly preferred.
• Previous hot tub, pool, maintenance, plumbing, or related experience preferred.
• Comfortable working with water chemistry, tools, and mechanical equipment.
• 2 years of basic property maintenance experience is preferred, but not required.
• Working knowledge of basic appliance repair, electrical systems, plumbing repair, HVAC repair, painting, and carpentry skills preferred.
• Tech-savvy with experience using various digital systems and applications and comfortable using mobile apps, tablets, and various software platforms.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
• Highly responsive and reliable.
• This role involves frequent travel between worksites, so reliable personal transportation is essential.
• Dependable and prepared. Showing up on time and ready to go is key to creating great stays for our guests and peace of mind for our homeowners.
• Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
• Comfortable talking to people—online or in person—and being able to share information in a way that’s clear, thoughtful, and represents the company in a positive way always

Workplace Environment + Physical Requirements

• Work may take place indoors or outdoors, in a variety of settings including private homes, resorts, offices, and laundry facilities — often in varying weather conditions.
• We’re in hospitality and our schedules can change based on guest and homeowner needs. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. We require flexibility to support this.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Regular travel within the locally assigned market and / or region.
• Ability to move freely (balancing, climbing, crawling, driving, squatting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and repetitive hand/finger motions) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance.
