Job summary

Nucor Steel Memphis, Inc. is seeking a Crane Operator to safely operate overhead cranes in the Melt Shop, supporting EAF, LMF, VTD, CCM, and Refractory areas.

You will assess load weights, verify lifting capacities, and help prevent equipment malfunctions while adhering to safety standards. Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience running a overhead crane that is over a 30 ton capacity.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials in the Melt Shop.
• Determine load weights and verify lifting capacities to prevent overloads.
• Inspect and assist with adjustments to crane components to prevent malfunctions or damage.
• Maintain equipment through cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs of mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, and grappling devices.
• Follow all safety procedures and operational standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
