Job summary

Canton Drop Forge is seeking a Hot Inspector to inspect forgings during production, verify dimensions, and support quality and process control. The role requires using inspection tools and visual checks to identify defects and ensure specifications are met.

You will work with operations to maintain product quality, document inspections, and assist with corrective actions as needed. The position is full-time with shift work and union oversight.

Qualifications

• Operate forklifts, pendant cranes, and hoists safely.
• Use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, scales).
• Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
• Knowledge of quality inspection practices.

Responsibilities

Job description

The normal schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts - though overtime may be required occasionally, as an 8-hour weekend shift.

Day Shift:

6:20 AM to 2:20 PM

Afternoon Shift:

2:20 PM to 10:20 PM

Night Shift:

10:20 PM to 6:20 AM

• Note: As a union-based employer, we are unable to guarantee any shift preference following initial training on day shift. Shift preference is granted by seniority. All candidates should expect to work afternoon shift and/or night shift at some point following initial training.

Pay Rate: $26.50 per hour

Job Requirements

• Operate Forklifts, pendant cranes, and hoists safely
• Experience using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, scales, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings
• Knowledge of quality inspection practices

Physical Requirements:

• Constant standing, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, and walking throughout shift.
• Ability to work with parts and equipment up to 100 lb. throughout shift, with assistive lifting devices.
• Ability to work within very hot and industrial work environment during all seasons.
