Description

The Hot Cook prepares food items under the direction of the Cafe manager.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Uses oven and stove to prepare food
• Cleans produce
• Prepares food (soups, salads, desserts, beverages, etc.) to specifications within a specified time limit
• Follows food and knife safety procedures
• Assists with receiving deliveries, stocking ingredients, and rotating products
• Deep cleaning
• Maintains food portions and tracks waste items
• Familiar with recipes and uses recipe builders to ensure consistency

Secondary Functions

Custodial duties as required

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent, or in pursuit of one
• Ability to complete CBC driver training, pass an MVR, and maintain a valid driver's license with insurance
• State Foodhandler card/ServSafe certification as applicable
• Preferably 3+ months' experience in food preparation, restaurant, or retail environment
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English
