Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas is seeking a Hostperson for The Henry inside The Cosmopolitan. You will warmly welcome guests, manage reservations, and help keep the outlet clean, stocked, and running smoothly.

This role requires excellent guest service, the ability to work varied shifts including weekends, and familiarity with OpenTable or SevenRooms preferred. Training on the floor and collaboration with servers and runners are key.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly as they enter the restaurant.
• Coordinate reservations and convey special requests to management.

• Communicate guest needs to kitchen and management to ensure smooth operation.
• Monitor cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas; manage phones and reservations as needed.
• Assist with seating flow and guest communication to ensure timely service.

THE JOB:

At The Henry inside The Cosmopolitan, the Hostperson plays a key role in delivering an outstanding guest experience. Responsible for warmly welcoming guests and managing the flow of service, the Hostperson ensures the outlet remains clean, organized, and properly stocked at all times. This position works collaboratively with Food Servers, Bus Persons, and Food Service Runners to support guest needs, communicate table information, and maintain efficient restaurant operations

THE STARTING RATE:

$18.2337 Hourly

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Communicate with Restaurant Reservations regarding special orders, cake orders, special requests - responsible for conveying all such information to management

• Maintain knowledge of scheduled daily activities and in-house groups, daily house count, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code of the restaurant

• Greet guests promptly as they enter the restaurant

• Answer phones, keep accurate count of reservations and handle reservation book

• Ensure menus have proper inserts and are current according to the most recent change, and replace all menus in poor condition

• Communicate the needs of the guests to the kitchen and management, inform management of guest reactions and comments, and assist management as needed to ensure smooth operation and quality service

• Frequently check back with guests who are waiting to be seated; make it evident to guests that they have not been forgotten and that tables are being prepared for them

• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas; shut down podium and forward phones to voice-loop at end of shift

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Work Varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required

• Previous experience with Open Table or SevenRooms system preferred
