Job summary

Custom House Restaurant Group is opening a new Shell Beach location and seeks a friendly host to greet guests, manage reservations, and assist with phone orders. You will help maintain a smooth front-of-house operation and ensure a welcoming dining experience.

We provide training coverage for California Food Handler and RBS certifications, with a focus on hospitality, professionalism, and guest satisfaction in a family-owned style business on the Central Coast.

Qualifications

• Previous host, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Comfortable using POS systems for order entry and payments.
• Ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Friendly and professional demeanor.
• Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a California Food Handler Certification.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and assist guests with questions or reservations.

• Help maintain a smooth flow of service in the dining room.

Custom House Restaurant Group is opening a new full-service restaurant in Shell Beach serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for many of our guests and help set the tone for their experience. This role includes greeting guests, managing reservations and waitlists, assisting with phone orders and takeout orders, and helping maintain a smooth and organized dining room during service.

We provide full coverage for required Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training and certification. Training time and certification costs are covered in accordance with company policy and California requirements.
