Job summary

Spearhead Hospitality, LLC in Chicago, IL is seeking a guest services lead to manage our reservations platform, answer phone reservations, and coordinate seating for all parties at our Valedor venue located at 1620 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago. We are looking for those who deliver attentive service and strong leadership skills. You'll need an ability to create a motivating work environment, have a strong passion for excellence, and quality guest service. This position is in charge of maintaining our reservations platform, answering phone reservations, and the flow of seating for all parties within our space. Most importantly you will be the first point of contact for all of our guests!

Weekends and Evening nights are required.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Professional in all situations; think critically as need in situations that arise
  • Follow all venue security procedure, SOP’s and protocol as designated
  • Report any guest complaints or escalated situations to management immediately
  • Provide an elevated level of customer service to all guests
  • Ensure safety of all staff and guests. Report any unsafe conditions immediately
  • Be a good listener and communicator
  • Focus on customer service and experience
  • Calm under stress; thinks quickly before acting
  • Control emotion in potentially volatile situations
  • Knowledgeable of the procedures at each post/position and stays fixed as required
  • Maintains control of access and club entry lines (if at front door)
  • ID Verification for legal age prior to admission (if at front door)
  • Verify prior to entry that the person is not overly intoxicated (if at front door)
  • Enforce dress code under the discretion of management (if at front door)
  • Direct communication with management at all times
  • Access and egress control and fire safety duties
  • Monitor guest behavior and level of intoxication, use of BASSETT certification
  • Walks out guests as directed by security leadership and management
  • Duties as assigned
Skills:
  1. Available to work opening & closing shifts, holidays and long shifts if necessary. Must be available to work weekends and have flexible shift availability.
  2. Must be able to deal with guests in a professional manner, maintain a professional appearance and have a strong sense of urgency.
  3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  4. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  5. Must be able to communicate well with co-workers and management.
  6. Ability to stand for hours at a times; grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  7. The ability to operate a dishwashing machine, careful dishware handling and floor maintenance is expected.
