Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Host to join the Argyle Hospitality team! Reporting to the Tasting Room Manager, this role is the first and last person our guests see. The Tasting Room Host is an integral part of our team, helping to enable world-class customer service to all guests and acting as an extension ambassador of the Argyle story. This position is responsible for welcoming guests and providing guidance on reservations and guest inquiries. This role is based in Dundee, Oregon, and is a part-time nonexempt position, working 28 hours/week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The incumbent qualifies for our outstanding benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401K matching, wine allowance, and more!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, guest-facing role; preference given to those with experience in wineries, restaurants, retail, or as an administrative assistant
  • Experience with reservation software/table management software
  • Hospitality Certificate, wine credential, or other post-high school educational pursuit is preferred but not mandatory
  • Understanding of world-class service and hospitality standards
  • Knowledge of Willamette Valley, including other wineries, restaurants, hotels, and historical sites
  • Strong work ethic in an independent environment with attention to detail
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Team collaboration skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Must be able to provide U.S. Work Authorization without current or future sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greeting all guests upon arrival in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Demonstrating best-in-class customer service skills with poise and tact
  • Managing table seating and wine ambassador assignments
  • Answering phone and email reservation inquiries and assisting with scheduling
  • Providing restaurant and lodging recommendations to guests
  • Collaborating with the guest services team
  • Handling routine purchasing transactions
  • Participating in private group tastings and events at the winery
  • Assisting with packing wine orders and side work tasks
  • Helping with table clearing and setting as needed
  • Engaging in proactive teamwork with all Tasting Room team members
