Job summary

Tektronix in Beaverton, OR is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer to design embedded hardware platforms using host processors with Linux/Windows. You will create schematics, select components, and drive board-level architecture, while ensuring manufacturability and reliability through design reviews.

The role involves debugging, power sequencing, and collaborating with manufacturing and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering required.
• Experience with embedded hardware systems using host processors running Linux or Windows.
• Experience with Intel or ARM-based SoCs with FPGA fabric.
• Multilayer PCB design experience with high-speed interfaces.
• Strong understanding of digital hardware, memory subsystems, and power sequencing.
• Proficient with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and debugging.
• Familiarity with Python scripting; Verilog knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify embedded hardware platforms using host processors running Linux/Windows.
• Create and maintain hardware designs, schematics, and board-level architecture.
• Support layout activities and conduct design reviews for manufacturability and reliability.
• Perform SI/PI analysis to reduce project risk and improve design quality.
• Forecast hardware bring-up, validation, and manufacturing needs early in the design cycle.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, test, and engineering teams.
