Job summary

The James on James Island Charleston seeks a warm, professional Host to greet guests and orchestrate seating with hospitality at the forefront. Weekend availability including Sundays is a must, and prior restaurant front-of-house experience is preferred but not required.

You will manage reservations and walk-ins, communicate wait times clearly, and support a cohesive team to deliver a smooth guest experience in a family-friendly, Southern hospitality setting.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a warm, professional and organized Host to be the first and lasting impression for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with genuine hospitality and professionalism
• Manage reservations and walk-ins using a reservation platform
• Communicate wait times clearly and accurately
• Coordinate efficient and thoughtful seating to maximize service flow
• Support the front of house team to ensure a smooth guest experience

What You’ll Bring

• Friendly, polished and guest focused
• Organized, efficient and able to multitask in a fast paced setting
• Comfortable using reservation systems; experience with OpenTable or Resy a plus
• A team player who communicates clearly and positively
• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required
