Egg Harbor Café in Hinsdale, IL is seeking a friendly Hospitality Support Team host to warmly welcome guests, seat them, and help ensure a smooth dining experience. • Welcomes guests with a friendly, professional greeting and seats them in a timely, coordinated manner.
• Takes guest information and communicates wait times when required.
• Supports servers by assisting with beverage and food service as needed.
• Maintains clean, organized dining areas and manages table setups.
• Communicates clearly with other departments to ensure smooth service.
• Assists with to-go orders and special requests as needed.
• Performs opening/closing tasks and on-shift side work as assigned.
• Upholds a positive, smiling attitude throughout the shift.

Job description

The “Hospitality Support Team” includes the host, food runner/drink runner, barista, and busser roles. Hospitality Support Team members will enhance the guest experience by supporting the front of house servers to make and deliver drinks, deliver food, accommodate guests coming in, clear tables, keep the dining area clean and organized, etc.

Shifts start and end early, so you’ll never work at night. Scheduling is generally flexible if you understand that our busiest days are on the weekends and holidays. We are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Our hosts are the first and last person that a customer sees when entering and departing the restaurant, and the interaction should be positive and enthusiastic. Hosts take care of a variety of tasks but are primarily responsible for welcoming customers with a polite and friendly approach, seating them in their desired place and in a coordinated manner.

In addition, the hosts may also be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Handing to-go orders to guests.
• Taking guest information and quoting wait times accurately when tables are not readily available.
• Managing table setups and arrangements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with other departments
• Helping assist other departments when assigned by management (i.e., making beverages, running beverages or food, clearing plates, etc.)
• Keeping the restaurant common areas clean and tidy
• Support other tasks as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Perform opening/closing and on shift side work and maintenance properly.
• Most of all, wearing a friendly smile throughout the shift
