Job Summary

Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all guests by welcoming and warmly greeting them upon arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of guests at tables that best serve their needs.

Activities & Responsibilities

• Greet all guests warmly and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
• Open the front door for guests entering or leaving when possible.
• Provide menus and inform guests of their server’s name upon seating.
• Record guest names and party size; inform guests of estimated wait times when immediate seating isn't available.
• Assign guests to suitable tables, following rotation to balance server workload.
• Call out names and parties when tables are ready.
• Check with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
• Answer phone calls and handle inquiries or transfer calls.
• Coordinate with kitchen, management, and staff to ensure smooth service.
• Inspect dining and waiting areas for cleanliness and setup.
• Inform guests about restaurant specialties and features.
• Manage dining reservations and restroom cleanliness.
• Guide guests to coatrooms and waiting areas.
• Relay messages to staff as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Attend staff meetings and suggest improvements.
• Assist colleagues to meet guest needs and support operations.
• Fill in for staff as needed to maintain service standards.

Supplemental Tasks

• Take to-go orders and operate cash registers.
• Supervise server activities to ensure courteous service.
• Order supplies and assist with food and beverage service.

• Point-of-sale systems, reservation software, office suite, and other restaurant equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
