More Maitri, Inc. is a non-profit human service agency dedicated to supporting persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We are seeking an experienced Host Home Provider who is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). This individual will provide residential support in their home to persons receiving services, functioning as an independent contractor. Contractors receive stipends for providing care.

Skills:

• Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Preferably experienced as a Host Home Provider
• Knowledge of working with the developmentally disabled population
• Dependable transportation with the ability to safely transport
• Excellent social skills for interacting with families and individuals with disabilities
• Willingness to support individuals with challenging behaviors
• Detail-oriented and task-focused
• Dependable, motivated, with an appropriate living environment and at least one available bedroom
• Passion for improving lives of persons with disabilities
• Knowledge of developmental disabilities, mental health, and trauma
• Skilled in behavioral interventions, calm and caring manner
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

• Manage medical and mental health services
• Assist with medication management
• Provide transportation to appointments and activities
• Complete daily documentation and submit monthly reports
• Assist with daily living and personal care
• Organize meaningful community activities
• Prepare meals and support monetary management
• Ensure overall health and safety, including environmental compliance

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• GED or diploma required
• Current Colorado Driver’s License and insurance
• Complete background checks
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds
• Obtain Host Home Liability Insurance
• Homeowner’s or Renter’s Insurance
• Pass HUD and environmental inspections
• Yearly TB testing
• CPR/First Aid, CPI, and QMAP training (or ability to obtain)
• Complete annual training provided by More Maitri, Inc.
