Job summary

Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport invites you to join a team that values guest-focused hospitality and creativity. As a Restaurant Host, you will build relationships with guests, manage reservations, seat guests, and convey the hotel’s dining concepts with a warm, professional demeanor.

Hourly rate for this position is $33.01, with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced environment and access to Omni benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) matching after one year, and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on food and beverage knowledge required.
  • Minimum of relevant host experience in a fine dining restaurant preferred.
  • Knowledge of Micros POS system preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain service standards and hotel policies.
  • Ensure health, safety, and sanitation standards; prepare for inspections.
  • Answer phones, manage reservations and seating, greet guests.
  • Know hotel offerings and local attractions.
  • Coordinate timing of service between kitchen and dining area.
  • Uphold guest environment to reduce risk of injury.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Grab the reins and help shape the future of the Seaport's best kept secret! Creativity must infuse everything we do, and everyone in the Hotel. Performance realities will always exist, but we use these constraints to push, not limit, our creativity.

The Restaurant Host is responsible for delivering excellence in guest service by developing relationships with guests, providing personalized service, anticipating, and delivering guests' needs. The Host comprehends the restaurant operation and seats our guests with a friendly demeanor keeping their expectations and the needs of the operation in mind.

Hourly rate for this position: $33.01

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards. Ensures compliance with all hotel standards and local laws.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation awareness standards. Prepare daily for health department and Ecosure inspections.
  • Perform all necessary tasks for a host according to the standard operating procedure of the hotel including but not limited to answering the phone, managing reservations and table assignments, greeting guests, seating guests, explaining restaurant concepts.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel offerings and local surroundings, i.e., nearby entertainment, theaters, etc.
  • Contribute to the restaurant sanitation operation and timing of service out of the kitchen and to the table. Ensures prompt delivery and quality control from point of departure to arrival.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business.
  • A minimum of relevant host experience in a fine dining restaurant is strongly preferred. Good verbal and written skills.
  • Knowledge of Micros preferred.
  • Ability to always maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure.
  • Proven ability to engage guests at all levels. Must be passionate about providing warm, engaging, and personalized service.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.
  • Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • ServeSafe certified | Unexpired TIPS required.
