Located at the corner of University and Mill, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU amplifies Tempe’s revitalized downtown area and offers some of the largest conference and meeting spaces in the city. The hotel features 330 guest rooms, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail shops, and nearly 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space with expansive views of the ASU campus and Tempe cityscape. Job Description

Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is seeking a Host / Greeter to join Lucero, the upscale rooftop restaurant and bar of our hotel. This role is ideal for someone outgoing, engaging, and interested in growing within the restaurant or hotel industry.

This is a full-time position requiring PM and weekend hours. The selected candidate must be available Tuesday through Saturday from 4 PM to 11 PM.

Responsibilities

  1. Greet guests upon entering the restaurant with a friendly smile and excellent customer service.
  2. Use OpenTable software to seat guests, manage server rotation, assist with seating arrangements, and inform guests of their server.
  3. Answer phone calls cheerfully, handle reservations, and respond to guest inquiries.
  4. Manage restaurant flow through reservation timing and seating management.
  5. Assign server sections, ensuring rotation among servers.
  6. Monitor dining areas for seating availability, service quality, safety, and guest well-being.
  7. Assist servers and managers as needed.
  8. Thank guests upon departure, invite them to return, and wish them well.
  9. Notify managers and servers of VIP guests and any special notes or issues.
  10. Participate in department meetings and required training sessions.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  1. Previous experience in full-service or upscale dining preferred.
  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  3. Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  4. Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and performance.
  5. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, indoors or outdoors.

*This position is part-time, on-site, with no remote work options.
