Position Summary

We are seeking dynamic and dedicated hosts to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a knack for delivering top-notch service in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. As a host, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience.

This role offers an hourly rate of $18.

About the Venue

Ensemble Arts Philly hosts a variety of genres including Broadway, comedy, theater, jazz, dance, and family presentations across three iconic venues: the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Miller Theater.

Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly with a smile and eye contact; escort them to their dining area; present menus; announce waitstaff's name.
  • Use visual cues to seat guests in the bar or dining area based on their preference.
  • Inform guests about their server to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff.
  • Answer incoming calls and provide appropriate service.
  • Manage guest flow into dining and bar areas; provide accurate wait times when appropriate.
  • Tend to special guest needs and requests.
  • Observe guests throughout their dining experience to ensure high-quality service, such as noticing when a drink refill is needed.
  • Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies to protect establishment and patrons.
  • Assist dining room staff by setting and clearing tables, replenishing water, and serving beverages.
  • Process dining charges accurately, including verifying orders, calculating taxes, and totaling bills for to-go orders.
  • Handle payments by validating credit charges, approving checks, accepting currency, and issuing change for to-go orders.
  • Reconcile cash drawer by verifying transactions and listing charges for to-go orders.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior customer service experience in hospitality.
  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills and phone etiquette.
  • Flexibility to work alternating shifts.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
