Job summary

Muckleshoot Casino Resort in Auburn, WA is seeking a friendly restaurant host/hostess to welcome guests, manage reservations, seat guests, and ensure a smooth dining flow. You will present menus, coordinate with waitstaff, and maintain a clean entry and lobby while promoting current specials.

The role requires excellent communication, reliable time management, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. A WA Health Card and ability to obtain required licenses are needed.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Class III B gaming license.
• 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in fine dining.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit required.
• Class 12 Alcohol Permit required.

Responsibilities

• Seat guests and present menus, ensuring a smooth seating process.
• Escort guests to tables, ensure proper table setup and cleanliness.
• Maintain waitlists, estimate wait times, and update guests on status.
• Coordinate with waitstaff to optimize restaurant occupancy.
• Promote specials and wine selections to guests during seating.
• Provide menu information and accommodate dietary requests.
• Handle complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain entryway and lobby area in an organized, welcoming state.

What You'll Do

• Practice, support and promote the mission, vision, and values of Muckleshoot Casino Resort.
• Provide an exceptional first impression by demonstrating professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
• Efficiently handle incoming reservations, confirm them, and allocate appropriate tables to ensure a smooth seating process.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus. Ensure tables are properly set up with clean tableware and appropriate settings.
• Communicate with the waitstaff to ensure a balanced and organized seating plan. Ensure that the restaurant's occupancy is optimized.
• Maintain a waitlist and accurately estimate wait times for guests. Keep guests informed about their table availability.
• Maintain accurate reservation records and seating charts. Ensure that the restaurant's reservation system is up to date.
• Keep the restaurant's entryway and lobby area clean and well-organized. Ensure the comfort and convenience of waiting guests.
• Promote special offers, wine selections, and other promotions to guests during the seating process.
• Provide information about the menu, daily specials, and answer any questions guests may have. Assist guests with special requests or accommodation, such as dietary restrictions.
• Handle guest complaints or issues professionally and resolve them to the best of your ability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• Ability to obtain a Class III B gaming license.
• 1 (one) year of previous experience in a similar role, particularly in fine dining or upscale restaurants, is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must have or be able to obtain WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit (required).
