Position Description
As a Host(ess), you will be responsible for providing friendly and efficient service to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs and performance standards. You will perform duties to maximize guest satisfaction and maintain a positive work environment as directed by the General Manager or Manager on Duty.
Responsibilities
- Report to work well groomed, in proper and clean uniform, practicing good personal hygiene.
- Use greeting, seating, and waiting list procedures.
- Handle cash, credit card information, gift cards, and all related payment transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness standards and stock the reception area and restrooms.
- Process all guest checks accurately with no cash overages or shortages.
- Identify and correct system breakdowns to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist with pantry maintenance and pre-rush organization.
- Support servers and bus persons to uphold Perkins service standards.
- Use proper cash handling procedures, including counting change, security, and cash accountability.
- Ensure the cash register and area are stocked with needed items.
- Communicate with the Manager on Duty and co-workers about any issues or deficiencies.
- Monitor food temperatures during handling to prevent foodborne illness.
- Be knowledgeable of the menu to suggest items and execute sampling programs.
- Maintain cleanliness of bakery cases and restock as needed.
- Bag or box products according to standards.
Qualifications
- Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service, taught through in-house training.
- Trustworthy; reliable in handling payments and operating the cash register.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
Physical Requirements / Environment / Work Conditions
- High mobility and flexibility.
- Ability to work irregular hours under pressure during peak times.
- Good coordination skills.
- Lift and carry trays weighing up to 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
- Ability to fit through openings 30" wide.
- Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors.
- Continuous standing and walking.
