SUMMARY
This position involves assisting with managing the host stand, supporting servers as an assistant, and working as a barista in the Bakery. Team members are expected to be flexible and willing to cover any of these roles during their shift based on business needs and staffing levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
HOST
- Greet and seat guests using the Tock platform.
- Hold the door for guests entering or exiting when possible.
- Guide guests to restrooms upon request.
- Maintain table status updates on Tock throughout service.
- Review reservations up to a week in advance; add occasions and tags as needed.
- Assist with creating and updating server sections.
- Create, modify, reschedule, and cancel reservations.
- Process refunds for guest deposits via Tock.
- Navigate the Tock platform proficiently.
- Add guests to the walk-in waitlist and manage it.
- Review guest notes and seating diagrams for accuracy and efficiency.
- Inform management and servers when specific guests are seated.
- Know table and position numbers.
- Seat guests in rotation, minimizing server double or triple seating.
- Take to-go orders when necessary and enter them into ResortSuite.
- Be knowledgeable about the property and surrounding area to assist guests.
- Practice proper phone etiquette.
BARISTA
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages.
- Recommend menu options to guests.
- Handle order taking and billing via POS and ResortSuite.
- Maintain inventory, replenish supplies, and stock to-go items.
- Clean, troubleshoot, and schedule repairs for equipment.
- Follow sanitation standards to ensure a safe work environment.
SERVER’S ASSISTANT
- Clear and reset tables efficiently.
- Polish glassware and silverware.
- Organize and redistribute polished glassware.
- Create sets and roll-ups as needed.
- Understand the floor plan and position numbers.
- Assist with making beverages like iced tea, lemonade, and coffee.
- Brew iced tea and coffee as needed.
- Prepare bread baskets and deliver them with a friendly greeting.
- Deliver dishes using open-handed service and communicate each dish confidently.
- Present the Dessert Trolley at tables.
- Process guest payments when required.
- Coordinate with the host to reset tables and confirm party sizes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication skills.
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Well-groomed and professional appearance.
- Reliable transportation.
Desirable Skills and Certifications
- Familiarity with Forbes Standards.
- Ability to communicate in languages other than English, preferably Spanish or French.
- Certification in alcohol awareness.
- CPR certification.
