Job summary

Aberdeen Social House in Indianapolis is seeking a hospitality team member to deliver exceptional guest experiences, greet guests, and support bartenders and servers. The position emphasizes professional service, teamwork, and readiness to manage guest needs with discretion.

Applicants should be prepared for weekend schedules, possess strong communication, and maintain a neat, professional appearance while delivering top-tier food, wine, and hospitality in a vibrant setting.

Qualifications

• Dressed neatly and well-groomed in company uniform.
• Operate POS system, handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
• Walk or stand for a 4-6 hour shift.
• Read menu items and speak English fluently.
• Reach, bend, stoop and perform cleaning duties.
• Professional phone skills; hear well in noisy environments.
• Calmly address agitated guests and involve a Manager when needed.
• Clearly communicate guests' needs to team members and Manager.

Summary of Host Responsibilities

• Interact with guests to ensure exemplary service in an efficient manner. Work closely with Bartender, Server Assistant and Servers to ensure guests receive superb service.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner with a sense of urgency.
• Promptly greet Guests in a friendly, professional manner.
• Ensure guests’ expectations have been met and naturally exceeded. Professionally resolve service issues.
• Uphold and maintain superior quality customer service and hospitality.
• Keep immediate supervisor informed of significant issues and take prompt corrective action.
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working atmosphere.
• Work as a team to ensure all facets of the restaurant are kept clean, safe and organized.

Job Qualifications

• Must be dressed neatly and well-groomed in company approved uniform.
• Must be able to operate P.O.S. computer system, make change correctly and make credit card transactions accurately.
• Walk or stand most of 4-6 hour shift.
• Must be able to read menu items and speak English.
• Able to reach, bend, stoop and perform cleaning duties.
• Professional phone skills. Must be able to hear well with loud background noise, in order to answer telephone and respond to guest requests.
• Must be able to calmly respond to agitated guests and notify a Manager immediately if the matter cannot be corrected in a timely manner.
• Must be able to clearly communicate guest’s needs to other employees including bussers, servers, and Manager.
