The Host is responsible for the daily execution of the Mission Statement, which includes providing First Class Service to both internal and external customers. The Host/Hostess is also responsible for receiving and seating guests and performing various tasks within a restaurant, such as ringing up orders, refilling beverages, setting tables, and cleaning eating/serving areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exceed First Class Service standards with every guest, business partner, and peer.
- Greet every guest with a friendly smile and positive attitude.
- Maintain consistent attention at the restaurant entrance, welcoming all guests with a smile and appropriate greeting according to company standards.
- Respond appropriately to guest concerns.
- Buss tables, take carryout orders, and restock the display case.
- Maintain and use seating charts for station rotation.
- Record guest seating times consistently to provide high-quality service.
- Seat guests and present the menu.
- Communicate with wait staff and other restaurant personnel to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Perform cashier and/or bus person duties, including cashing out guests.
- Answer phones and guest questions.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment free of safety hazards, including sweeping and mopping as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including food safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Clear and concise communication skills with team members, managers, and guests.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a point of sale system.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capable of working unsupervised for extended periods and demonstrating good judgment with guests.
- Flexibility to work various shifts in a 7/365 team-oriented environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs, stand, bend, reach, climb ladders, and walk long distances.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures and for long periods.
