Our fine dining Italian restaurant is seeking experienced hospitality professionals to join our team as Host/Hostess.
Applicants should have an outgoing personality, a passion for food and strong experience providing great service. Join our team today in Long Island! (This is not a Manhattan based opportunity).
Our ideal Host candidate will be able to work on Sundays.

Job Overview

Host/Hostess are responsible for creating the first impression for the guest. These individuals have the ability to influence the guests' overall restaurant experience. They may be the final point of contact and must ensure guest satisfaction. Host/Hostess must possess a friendly, informative, and helpful manner, and be prepared to answer all guest questions accurately.

Restaurant Manager

Essential Job Functions

1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all policies, service procedures, and standards.
2. Arrive on time, with all necessary equipment and supplies, properly attired according to company standards.
3. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of busyness.
4. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
5. Confirm all reservations and answer phone calls to take reservations.
6. Enter reservations into the Open Table Reservation System.
7. Greet guests warmly and assist Maitre D in seating guests.
8. Keep the podium area organized and clean, ensuring displays are proper.
9. Be knowledgeable about private dining information.
10. Check restrooms frequently to ensure they are spotless, stocked, and report any issues.
11. Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
12. Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
13. Remain calm, think clearly, and resolve problems using good judgment.
14. Maintain knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, and dress code.

Qualifications

• Command of the English language.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• At least 1 year of experience in a high-end restaurant.
• Satisfactory communication skills with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Ability to focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.
• Must be able to bend and stoop to the floor.
