Job summary

Mosquito Joe of Arkansas is seeking a friendly host/hostess to warmly welcome guests and manage seating to fit each party's preferences.

You will greet arrivals, record names and party sizes, call tables when ready, and help keep the lobby clean and organized. You may answer the phone with a friendly greeting and provide accurate wait times. No prior restaurant experience is required; strong grooming, punctuality and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• No previous restaurant experience required.
• Stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).
• Communicate clearly in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Exceptional grooming habits.

Responsibilities

• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
• Open the front door for guests entering or leaving when possible.
• Record guest names and party sizes when immediate seating is limited.
• Call out name and party number when tables become available.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting time.
• Accommodate special seating requests when possible.
• Seat guests based on preferences and balancing customer flow.
• Help bus tables and keep floors clean.
• Keep hostess stand and closet clean and stocked.
• Clean all windows in the foyer.
• Stock bathrooms and perform hourly checks.
• Offer menus and introduce servers when seating guests.
• Relay messages to servers as needed.
• Thank guests and invite them to return.

Summary of Position

Welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival
• When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant
• When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and the number of people in their party
• Call out name and number of party when tables become available
• Provide guests with estimated waiting time
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
• Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
• Help bus tables and help keep floors clean
• Keep hostess stand and closet clean and stocked
• Clean all windows in the foyer
• Stock bathrooms and make sure they stay clean with hourly bathroom checks
• Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness
• Relay messages to servers as needed
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
• Answer the phone with a smile and the correct greeting

Qualifications

• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
