Job summary

Cantwell's Tavern in Odessa, Delaware is seeking a friendly Host to welcome guests, seat them, and help ensure an exceptional dining experience. You will organize the floor plan, manage reservations and waitlists, and greet customers with a warm smile while keeping the host stand neat.

Responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, presenting menus, communicating guest needs to servers and staff, providing accurate wait times, answering the phone, and occasionally making popcorn.

Qualifications

• Friendly and customer-focused personality.
• Ability to articulate greetings and farewells to guests, as well as understand requests for assistance.
• Clear communication of guests’ needs to Servers, Bussers, Managers, etc.
• Previous restaurant hosting or serving experience preferred, not required.

Compensation: $15.00 per hour

The Cantwell's Bridge Hotel and Tavern was built by prominent businessman, William Polk, in 1822 and was operated as such for the next 100 years. The simple, clean, classic Federal lines denote a sophisticated style rather than that of a "country" inn typical of small towns. Merchants, ship captains and visitors to the busy port town of Cantwell's Bridge would have found comfort in the accommodations offered at this fine establishment. During Colonial times, most towns on busy travel routes had several taverns, and Odessa was no exception, with five taverns in addition to the beautiful Cantwell's Tavern.
