Job description

Position Summary:

Guides guests to appropriate tables as directed by the maître d’. Interacts with guests, employees, and supervisors in a polite, courteous, and hospitable manner to ensure gracious hospitality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

• Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Tao Group Hospitality Employee Handbook.
• Anticipate and accommodate guest needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the entrance area.
• Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
• Take and process reservations.
• Assist with incoming calls and guest inquiries.
• Check guests’ coats and belongings where applicable.
• Assist with setting up the front desk area, perform side-work, and other opening/closing procedures as directed, including ensuring menus are printed, organized, and collected during shifts.
• Report any breakage or damage immediately.
• Attend daily pre-service meetings and departmental trainings.
• Learn by observing and sharing knowledge, leading by example.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude and demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality and its partners.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team, providing support to fellow team members.

Training Requirements:

Tao Group Hospitality in-venue host training.

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

• Previous hospitality and host experience.
• Experience in high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge environments.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Must be able to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive motion tasks.
• Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
• Ability to focus in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
