Host Job Description

We are a new restaurant with a “polish casual” setting. We are open for dinner only Monday through Sunday, which weekend brunch starting soon. You will greet guests as they enter and show them to their table or waiting area. You will also engage with guests to ensure their meal is as good as it should be. To do well in this role you should be comfortable standing for long periods and managing a very busy shift. Saturday & Sunday availability is a MUST.

Host Responsibilities

• Greeting guests as they enter, check them in if they have a reservation and provide an estimate if they do not.
• Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.
• Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.
• Answering phone calls.
• Be able to give general directions to the restaurant.
• Make reservations for guests.
• A knowledge of the menu.
• Take to go orders over the phone.
• Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
• Providing great customer service.

Qualifications

• Worked in a full service restaurant.
• Experience with an online/app based reservation systems such as OpenTable, Resy, Tock, etc.
• Enjoy meeting new people and enjoy providing memorable guest experiences.
• Experience as a barista is not required, but is a plus.
