The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group in Chicago is seeking a warm, hospitality-minded Host for our River North cocktail bar. You will greet guests, manage seating, and help create a welcoming first impression from arrival through seating.

Ideal candidates are guest-focused, calm under pressure, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. This role offers opportunities to grow within a dynamic hospitality team in a prime neighborhood.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality, restaurant, or guest-facing experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to remain calm, organized, and friendly during busy service.
• Proficient at managing seating, reservations, and waitlists.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests with confidence, warmth, and professionalism.
• Manage guest seating, reservations, waitlists, and table flow.
• Provide accurate wait-time estimates and communicate updates to guests.
• Coordinate closely with bartenders, servers, managers, and other team members.
• Maintain an organized and efficient entry and waiting area.
• Answer phones and respond to guest questions about reservations, menus, hours, and the bar experience.
• Monitor the floor and help ensure a smooth flow of service.
• Assist with guest requests and resolve minor concerns professionally.
• Maintain a polished appearance and represent the bar's brand and hospitality standards.
• Support the team with light side work and other operational tasks as needed.
• Uphold all company policies, service standards, and safety requirements.

About the Role

We're looking for a warm, polished, and hospitality-minded Host to join our cocktail bar in Chicago's River North neighborhood. The Host is the first point of contact for every guest and plays a key role in creating an energetic, welcoming experience from the moment guests arrive.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication skills, and understands that great hospitality is about anticipating needs, staying composed under pressure, and making every guest feel genuinely welcome.
