Job Description

As a host, your responsibilities include a warm greeting, escorting guests to their tables, and making them feel comfortable while they wait. Host/Hostess must be motivated, enthusiastic, and highly personable. Hosts are outgoing and able to promote a fun atmosphere. They market the restaurant to new and potential guests by setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience as a host is preferred, but not required.
• Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be self-motivated.
• Good organizational, time management, and sales skills.
• Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Dependable, reliable, and driven with minimal supervision.
• High level of awareness, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Effective and efficient at multi-tasking in pressure situations.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

• Sitting, handling, eye-hand coordination, stooping, kneeling, walking/standing for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to withstand temperature changes, smoke, steam, and heat.
• Work in confined areas for extended periods.
• Reaching, talking, hearing effectively amidst background noise.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Ability to observe, detect emergency situations, and distinguish product qualities.
• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide.
