Job Description

As a host, your responsibilities include a warm greeting, escorting guests to their tables, or making them feel comfortable while they wait for a table. Hosts/Hostesses must be motivated, enthusiastic, and highly personable. They should be outgoing and able to promote a fun atmosphere. Hosts also market the restaurant to new and potential guests by setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Previous experience as a host is preferred but not required.
• Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be self-motivated.
• Good organizational, time management, and sales skills.
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Dependable, reliable, and driven with minimal supervision.
• High level of awareness, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently in pressure situations.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

This position requires sitting, handling, eye-hand coordination, stooping, kneeling, and walking/standing for multiple hours. May occasionally require lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing up to 50 lbs. Must withstand temperature changes, smoke, steam, and heat. Ability to work in confined areas for extended periods. Effective communication with surrounding background noise. Visual acuity including close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Sensory abilities to observe emergency situations and distinguish product qualities. Basic math skills are required.
