Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team at the Irving, TX offices. The position entails reconciling general ledger accounts, performing daily cash reconciliation, and preparing income journal entries across assigned hotels.

You will collaborate with AP and Payroll, review P&L statements, and assist with budgeting and forecasting. An Associate degree or higher in Accounting is required, along with strong Excel and Word skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Accounting is required.
• Strong PC skills including Excel and Word.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience; hospitality experience preferred.
• Blackline experience strongly preferred.
• A/R experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete balance sheet reconciliations for assigned hotels.
• Perform monthly general ledger review for accurate financial statements.
• Coordinate with AP and Payroll to resolve issues.
• Ensure open items are communicated with follow-up as needed.
• Review and approve POs with focus on GL coding accuracy.
• Assist with budgeting and monthly forecasting.
• Build relationships with General Managers for accounting/AR items.
• Hold weekly calls with GMs to discuss issues.
• Review P&L with GMs in Accounting System.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
• Assist in accounting and transition of new property acquisitions.
• Support external audits with reconciliation requests and information.
